I collage, I print, I make stuff. I work with paper mostly. In the little spare bedroom in Austin TX, I make mixed media collage and assemblage, cards, and prints, and all sorts of great stuff from piles of vintage papers, old books well past their prime, and other ephemeral bits, pieces and found objects. It's sort of like recycling only better.
Meet the Gnomes
I've got a new series of Mixed Media Assemblage pieces, and I'm super excited about them. Each piece is created entirely from recycled and reclaimed materials. The Gnomes themselves are vintage cupcake toppers I've been scrounging and collecting. The reclaimed wooden blocks are vintage alphabet blocks I'm pretty sure they're from the 1940's and their edges have been nicely rounded from wear. I've covered each side of the blocks with carefully culled and clipped pieces from vintage maps and other paper ephemera. The tiny sculptures stand just about 4" tall.
